I am a DTP DPhil student in the Animal Behaviour Research Group and also a member of the Spatial Cognition Group.

Research Interests

I am interested in 3D collective behaviour and navigation. In particular, I want to look at how cohesive groups form in 3D and the characteristics of these groups, and also how the vertical dimension is used by animals to navigate. Navigation and group formation is more complex in 3D due to having to encode information from both the vertical and horizontal dimensions and the increased degrees of freedom. I hope to look at these questions using a combination of experimental work and mathematical modelling, using two organisms, homing pigeons and fish.

Education

I completed a BA in Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford.
